Testing Starts 12/3 with PM session 9th and 10th graders.
It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of one of our most beloved teachers. Mr. Bob Lambert was an amazing soul. A beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, but most of all, a very special instructor. Mr. Lambert helped so many and impacted so many lives. His love for his students was evident; he was their mentor and friend. Please keep his wife and family in your prayers. Mr. Lambert was an important part of our school family; he and his wife have been here from the beginning, back in 2013. His sense of humor was quirky and sometimes dark, but he always made everyone around him smile. He lighted up a room as soon as he walked in. He will be remembered as a brave man who fought for his country, an amazing teacher and a good friend.
Goodbye, old friend, until we meet again.
A Heart of Gold
The man had a heart of gold, he believed in a second chance.
He taught the students how to use creativity so that they all could advance.
He was a star in his own right, and he made them feel much brighter.
The man with a heart of gold, made the heavy loads feel lighter.
The seeds he has planted, his shoes who can fill?
He gave them a craft and taught them a skill.
His heart was of gold, head had a halo above.
The heart of gold will be missed.
Someone everybody could love.
His heart was of gold.
Love Ms. Felton

Florida Law on School Attendance
- Florida law requires each parent of a child from six to sixteen years of age to be responsible for the child’s school attendance. Students who have attained the age of 16 years and who have not graduated are subject to compulsory school attendance until the formal declaration of intent to terminate school enrollment is filed with the district school.
- Florida Statutes, 1003.24 defines the responsibility of parents for the attendance of their child at school and requires them to provide an explanation for any absence from school. If a student has unauthorized absences sufficient enough to jeopardize academic progress and it is determined that the student’s parent or legal guardian is at fault for the absence, in accordance to F.S. 1003.24, the procedures under Florida Statutes 1003.26 and 1003.27 shall be followed by the appropriate school personnel.

On September 14, 2021, Governor DeSantis announced that the state will file Legislation to eliminate the common-core based, end-of-year Florida Statewide Assessment and create the new Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (F.A.S.T.). By creating the F.A.S.T. plan, Florida is becoming the first state in the nation to fully implement progress monitoring instead of end-of-year standardized testing, and will fully eliminate Common Core.
